My husband and I are entering a new beautiful apartment, and I need cooking ideas. I want to buy some nice accessories (towels, a valance over the sink, images, etc) and I need know where to go for the theme. Here are my thoughts for themes: – the grapes / wine – coffee / coffee – French bistro – tomatoes – peppers Feel to vote for one of these topics, or suggest a creator of your own. Also, if you have any decorating tips kitchen that I can use to kitchen of the apartment (I can paint the walls and change minor things, but not boring walls or cabinets, or tear something) please feel free to share. Why you have to do a theme? Most kitchens I see with themes like this … people go way overboard. Why not just find something you love, like a cool cloth for your valance, or a wall clock really well, or a cool piece of art for the wall, and just pull some colors from that for the rest of your accessories. Do not get all with a theme on it, you do not need a kitchen with a valance of grapes, grape and tea towels, and dishes of grapes, and cups of coffee with grapes on them, and few rugs with grapes on them, and photos of grapes on the wall …. it is too themey! Go just a simple "art" piece, with colors and textures out of the game, it will last you so much! I really this little painting of a lemon that is sitting on a brown table with a green background and is hanging over my sink (my backrest goes all the way and is behind my granite sink, painting hangs on the granite). It's a close-up of the lemon, lemon is about the only thing in the paint. I loved this painting when I saw it because it was so simple, but the painting on it is so thick that it is very detailed. I painted my walls in my kitchen the green bottom paint. I have some yellow canisters on the counter of the flour / sugar / etc that are very close to the yellow lemon. I have some brown rug in front of the sink and the back door which correspond that sits on the lemon. And I have a couple of tablecloths and green striped flat-front that are suspended on the handle of the oven. I used an inspiration and do all the cooking out of it, everything else is simple. I have a simple stainless clock hanging on the wall. All my accessories (towel bar paper, trash fruit, stuff like that …) are woven of black thread. Simple, I love it! I say forget the theme, go OWN!

Need to make my own "pantry"?
So I have a decent sized kitchen, but no pantry. I have no place for dry foods (chips, cereal, etc.). I have a couple of cabinets that I can adjust my canned goods and spices, but thats about it. I have a box in my kitchen big enough for a bistro table, so I tell myself that I could easily put something in for storage. My boyfriend and I intend to leave this house next year, so I do not want to spend lots of money – but I can not stand having to stack my food on top of the refrigerator or on counter. Hello, Actually I live in France in my house uk i installed a kitchen island with a small sink with double cupboard unit work, i had a unit with an overhead support and therefore used as a sitting area. in this house i bought two new French cabinet [they are opened under the shelves with small top drawers intended to be used in a living room, I placed back to back and added a carpenter made wooden worktop [i actually recycled an old stove and had mounted in that] these drawers drawers, spice racks i have the pans on the other hand I use the drawers for napkins and I China on shelves] if you buy something you can take with you? or consider something second-hand you can keep or sell next tenant?
